About Me
Hello, I’m Aisling Cahill, a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I’ve spent the past five years supporting people through some of the most painful and complex chapters of their lives. My work is rooted in real connection, honesty, and the belief that healing begins when we stop running from our pain.
I mainly work with people across Kerry and West Limerick, including areas like Tralee, Listowel, Newcastle West, and Abbeyfeale. I offer in-person sessions here in Ballybunion, and I’ll soon be expanding into online counselling, group work, and more accessible options for those who can’t travel.

What I Do
I specialise in complex trauma—the kind of pain that takes time, patience, and safety to explore. The people I work with are often dealing with experiences that don’t have easy answers. That includes:
-
PTSD and developmental trauma
-
Sexual abuse and domestic violence
-
Abortion and reproductive trauma
-
Chronic or terminal illness
-
Grief and bereavement
-
Anxiety, depression, and emotional numbness
-
Relationship breakdowns and deep loneliness
I work predominantly with women, but I also have many male clients and welcome people of all identities. My space is open, non-judgemental, and built for people who want to get real about their pain.

My Approach to Therapy
My style is integrative and person-led. That means I don’t stick to a single model or set of rules—I adapt to what you need. I draw from:
-
Existential and humanistic therapy
-
Person-centred and psychodynamic approaches
-
Jungian theory and dream work
-
Art therapy
-
Energy healing and body-based work
Some days we talk. Some days we use silence, images, movement, or breath to express things that are too big for words. I offer hybrid sessions that combine traditional talk therapy with energy healing, especially for people who feel emotionally disconnected, overwhelmed, or physically stuck in survival mode.
How I Work
I speak plainly. I don’t use overcomplicated language or pretend that therapy is easy. This work is messy, painful, and sometimes exhausting—but it’s also powerful. I won’t sugar-coat anything, but I also won’t leave you to carry it alone.
What matters most to me is that you feel seen, not fixed. You’re not broken. You don’t need to be turned into someone else. My job is to sit beside you, without judgement, and help you learn to feel safe in your own body and story again.
Therapy Should Fit You, Not the Other Way Around
Everyone’s experience is different. Some clients want to focus on talking. Others prefer creative or energy-based work. Some want to explore trauma. Others come for support with a life transition, illness, or loss. Whatever brings you here, we’ll move at your pace.
I don’t push people to talk before they’re ready. I won’t ask you to explain things you can’t put into words. Together, we’ll find the tools and language that work for you.
Creative Work and Future Plans
Outside the therapy room, I’m also an artist, and I see creativity as an important part of healing. I plan to integrate more of my visual work into therapy sessions over time, including art-led workshops and creative tools for processing grief, trauma, and identity.
I’m currently developing new services including:
-
Online therapy sessions
-
Group therapy and trauma circles
-
Retreats and day-long immersive experiences
-
Psychedelic integration support
These future offerings will focus on community, connection, and deeper therapeutic exploration for those who want it.
What to Expect
You don’t need to be articulate, confident, or emotionally aware to start therapy. You just need to be willing to show up, as you are. If all you can manage is to sit in silence or cry in a safe space, that’s enough. I’ll meet you there.
I don’t offer advice or try to change you. I offer tools, perspective, and the space to explore your own truth without pressure, shame, or expectation.
