Trauma Healing
At Down the Rabbit Hole Therapies, I offer grounded, no-nonsense support for people living with trauma. I don’t overcomplicate things, and I don’t talk down to you. I work with real people who’ve been through real pain — and who want to start finding their way back to safety, calm, and connection.
I work one-to-one with people experiencing PTSD, sexual abuse, domestic violence, chronic illness, abortion grief, complex loss, and other layered, emotional wounds. Most of the people I work with are women, but I also support men who are ready to explore their trauma and heal on their own terms.

What We Will Do: A Trauma-Focused Approach
I use a blend of approaches to suit what you need. No two people are the same. That’s why I don’t stick to just one method.
Counselling
Sometimes, you just need space to talk. Counselling gives you that. You can say whatever’s on your mind, without judgement or pressure. I’ll help you look at things from a new perspective, so you can start to make sense of what’s happening internally.
Psychotherapy
When we work at a deeper level, we begin to notice patterns. Maybe you’re stuck in cycles that feel impossible to break. Psychotherapy helps untangle those roots — the ones that are often hidden in early experiences, trauma, and subconscious beliefs.
Energy Healing
You carry trauma in your nervous system, not just your mind. That’s why I include energy healing in my work, if it feels right for you. It’s a calm, quiet space where your body gets a chance to release what words can’t always reach.
Integrative Therapy
Some days you might want to talk. Other days you need silence, space or grounding. Integrative therapy allows me to move between different approaches depending on what feels right in the moment. I stay flexible so I can meet you where you are.

Who I Work With
I support people who’ve lived through things they should never have had to endure. I don’t ask you to justify your pain. If you’re hurting, that’s enough reason to come.
Here are some of the things people bring to me:
-
Childhood trauma
-
Sexual abuse
-
Domestic violence
-
PTSD and emotional flashbacks
-
Chronic illness-related trauma
-
Abortion and pregnancy loss
-
Disordered attachment
-
Shame and low self-worth
-
Emotional numbness
-
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed without knowing why
What to Expect When You Work With Me
You won’t get sugar-coated advice. I’m warm, but I’m also honest. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’ll sit with you through the hard parts and help you see your story from a different angle — one that lets you take your power back.
My sessions are like conversations. I reflect things back to you. I ask questions. I challenge gently when it’s needed. I stay fully present with you so that you never have to carry your pain alone. The goal isn’t to fix you — it’s to help you understand yourself clearly enough to heal.
What Healing Trauma Really Means
Trauma recovery isn’t just about telling your story. It’s about helping your body feel safe again, maybe for the first time. You start learning how to:
-
Notice your triggers before they take over
-
Stay present during emotional waves
-
Understand where your reactions come from
-
Self-soothe when things feel chaotic
-
Move from shame into compassion
-
Reconnect with parts of yourself you had to shut down
This isn’t quick-fix work. It’s deep. It’s slow. And it’s yours.
Not Sure What You Need? That’s OK.
You don’t have to walk into therapy knowing what you want to talk about. So many people just know that something isn’t right.
You might feel:
-
Constantly on edge
-
Disconnected or emotionally numb
-
Trapped in repeating patterns
-
Hyper-independent
-
Exhausted, even after rest
-
Like you’re “too sensitive” or “too much”
-
Guilty or ashamed of things you’ve been through
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. This is the nervous system responding to what you’ve lived through. That doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means your body adapted to survive. Now you get to learn how to feel safe again.
